Capgemini UK is seeking a highly experienced HR Director to support one of its most strategically significant business areas. Reporting directly to the UK HR Director and with a dotted line into the Head of the Market Unit, this is a pivotal leadership role within the UK HR function.

The successful candidate will shape and lead the Market Unit's people agenda, delivering a workforce strategy that aligns with business goals, supports client engagement, and ensures long‑term organisational capability. This is a hands‑on and strategic role requiring depth in transformation, workforce planning, talent management, employee relations, and stakeholder influence.

The places you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of company offices, client sites, and your home. You will be expected to be onsite in Telford 3 days per week and cannot work from home 100% of the time.

Successful offers will undergo a series of checks including identity, nationality or immigration status, employment history covering the last three continuous years, and an unspent criminal record check (Disclosure and Barring Service).

As a strategic HR Director, you will drive and champion country and business‑led initiatives within the Market Unit.

• Act as a strategic HR partner on major client engagements, bids and transitions.
• Coach senior leaders and embed consistent talent standards.
• Navi​gate complex employee relations and industrial landscapes.
• Champion digital HR tools, automation and AI for smarter service delivery.
• Lead strategic workforce planning and succession for critical roles.
• Drive culture, engagement and DEI across hybrid, distributed teams.
• Use data and analytics to inform decisions and demonstrate impact.
• Represent Capgemini HR in external forums and industry bodies.

• Strategic mindset with hands‑on execution.
• Significant experience in a senior HR leadership role within complex, matrixed organisations – ideally IT services or consulting.
• Strong business acumen and ability to influence and coach senior leaders.
• Success driving change, building high‑performing teams and navigating employee relations.
• Expertise in talent management, workforce transformation, engagement and culture building.
• Understanding of public sector or regulated environments is advantageous.
• Experience managing a population of 2,000+ employees, focusing on agility, scalability and business impact.
• High integrity, discretion and commercial judgment.
• Ability to connect people strategies to business performance, cost drivers and client outcomes.
• Leadership of HR transformation initiatives, including operating model redesign, digital enablement and capability uplift.
• Leveraging people analytics and workforce data to drive strategic decisions.
• Management of HR governance, compliance and risk frameworks across diverse business units.
