Job Overview
Ambitious qualified Business Partner required to develop a career in NHS Wales. This role joins the NWSSP Business Partnering Team as a Business Partner People & OD, based at HQ in Nantgarw, Cardiff. It offers broad business‑partnering experience across NWSSP and demands a hardworking, committed individual with HR and operational experience, keen attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities- Provide effective advice and support to managers in a timely and proactive manner.
- Act as an advocate for an open, fair and transparent employment‑relations environment, working in partnership with trade union representatives, staff and managers.
- Assist Senior People and OD colleagues and Line Managers in preparing responses to employment tribunal claims and preparing for hearings.
- Provide staff with information on terms and conditions of service and welfare issues such as ill health retirement, adoption leave, maternity leave, paternity leave, sickness entitlements, salary details, annual leave and flexible working options.
- Deliver accurate and relevant workforce information and reports to the organisation.
- Produce quarterly and other reports on workforce activity (sickness, vacancy levels, turnover, etc.) for presentation at various meetings.
- Help managers prepare management statements for employee‑relations cases.
- Support the NHS Job Evaluation scheme.
- Advise managers on appropriate action in relation to ER caseload, ensuring consistency across the organisation.
- Devise and deliver training programmes.
- Work with managers to identify training needs in conjunction with the OD team.

PersonSpecification
Essential criteria
- Post‑graduate qualification in HRM.
- MCIPD Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development or working towards qualification.
Desirable criteria
- MSc in Human Resource Management (HRM).
- Experience of workforce in an NHS setting.
- You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
- Welsh language skills are desirable.
- All candidates who are not UK or Republic of Ireland nationals require sponsorship to obtain a Health and Care visa or Skilled Worker visa, unless they have permission to work via another route.
