We, at Travis Perkins Plc, have an exciting and varied Junior Employee Relations Advisor opportunity within our highly engaged HR Shared Service Employee Relations team, based in Lodge Farm – Northampton.
You will assist in managing ER cases and provide effective, efficient, responsive and commercial Employee Relations advice and support over the phone to all businesses within the Group, with a continuous improvement mindset.
This role will be working from our Northampton office 3/4 days a week, with 1/2 days a week working from home.
Key Accountabilities- Work towards providing first‑class advice and guidance on all Employee Relations matters over the telephone to colleagues, managers and senior leaders, logging advisory calls on a CRM tool. Ensure the advice given is commercial, impartial, consistent, legally compliant and in line with company policies and procedures, and analyse and advise of any risks and/or costs to the business.
- With support, effectively and efficiently provide end‑to‑end case‑management support to managers of a low volume of dispute resolution caseload (gross misconduct, disciplinaries, appeals, grievances).
- Support the Employee Relations Specialists by providing professional administrative support with a range of activities, e.g. medical referrals, letters, document collation for Subject Access Requests.
- Assist with Employee Relations related business projects as and when required.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar HR role.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of employment legislation and a good understanding of data protection principles.
- Ability to handle difficult or complex situations.
- Confident and strong influencer, able to respectfully challenge and be challenged at all levels.
- Hold a driving licence and mode of transport.
