Our Service

The People & Culture team supports colleagues and volunteers across the full employee lifecycle. The team plays a key role in making sure our people processes are organised, accurate, legally compliant and people‑centred, helping to create a positive experience for staff, volunteers and candidates. The People & Culture Administrator reports to the People & Culture Team Leader and provides high‑quality administrative support across HR, recruitment, onboarding, payroll administration, systems, compliance, internal communications and organisational activity.

The Role

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build a career in People & Culture, HR or organisational development. It could be an excellent grounding role for a graduate or someone at the start of their HR career who wants broad experience in a supportive, values‑led organisation.

You will be the first point of contact for a wide range of People & Culture administration, helping to keep services running smoothly and making sure employees and candidates receive a professional and welcoming experience. You will support recruitment and onboarding, maintain records and HR systems, monitor key processes, prepare payroll administration, coordinate internal communications and help keep the team organised and audit‑ready.

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, confident with systems and detail‑focused, and who is keen to develop strong knowledge in employment law, reasonable adjustments, workplace wellbeing and equity, diversity and inclusion. The role also requires excellent judgement when handling confidential information and knowing when to escalates issues appropriately.

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Experience of providing high‑quality administration or advice in a professional setting, including handling confidential or sensitive information carefully and accurately.
  • Strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office and digital systems.
  • Ability to provide first‑line support across people processes in line with Leeds Mind policies, employment law, GDPR and safer recruitment requirements.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, compliance checks, record keeping or similar administrative processes.
  • A strong interest in People & Culture / HR and a willingness to become confident in policies, procedures and core legal requirements.

Hours: 30 Mon‑Thurs or Tues‑Fri 09:00‑17:00

Contract

Contract: permanent

Location: The role is based at Clarence House, Clarence Road, LS18 4LB
(max 2 days working from home per week available)
