Role details:
The post holder will be responsible for supporting the provision of a professional, high quality and comprehensive Employee Relations service.
Key areas of activity will include supporting the Employee Relations team in relation to employee relations (ER) issues, with a particular focus on supporting the management of Employment Tribunals.
Duties to include:
* Provide comprehensive administrative support throughout the Employment Tribunal process, including case preparation, documentation management, correspondence, and tracking key deadlines to ensure efficient case handling
* Take ownership of the administrative aspects of Employment Tribunal cases, enabling senior HR colleagues to focus on strategy, case management, and stakeholder engagement.
* Coordinate and manage all Employment Tribunal administration, including collating evidence, maintaining case files, liaising with legal representatives, preparing
documentation, and ensuring compliance with tribunal deadlines and requirements.
* Provide comprehensive support to the Head of Operational Employee Relations in managing the employment tribunal case load of the Trust.
* Liaise with our legal advisors and Divisional HR colleagues to collate relevant information and documentation to prescriptive deadlines.
* Monitor legal deadlines and pro-actively escalate concerns as appropriate.
* Keep contemporaneous records and update internal trackers and systems.
* Record and monitor details of legal spend, analysing key trends and hot spots to identify efficiencies where applicable.
* Act as the first point of contact for ER queries into the shared inbox.
* Provide advice on the interpretation and application of all Trust workforce policies and procedures, employment legislation and Agenda for Change terms and conditions of service.
* Produce monthly and ad-hoc workforce information reports from the ER Tracker system and closely monitor and analyse data using Excel.
* Provide advice and guidance on contractual entitlements, including annual leave and maternity/paternity/adoption leave.
* Co-ordinate, support and administer the Trust’s Consultation Sub-Group monthly meetings, establishing a good working relationship with Staff Side colleagues.
This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
You’ll have the following skills/experience:
* Ability to plan and organise work to meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of employment tribunal process
* Strong administration skills
* Reliable and organised paying attention to detail, with excellent interpersonal skills
* Competent with Microsoft Office programmes
