About the jobAs a HR & Employment Law Consultant, you'll provide practical, commercially focused employment law and HR advice to school and trust leaders, helping them navigate people challenges with confidence.
You'll advise on a wide range of employee relations and employment law matters, balancing legal compliance with practical, workable solutions. From day-to-day HR queries through to complex casework and organisational change programmes, you'll help clients make informed decisions and achieve positive outcomes.
This is a varied and rewarding role that combines advisory work with opportunities to contribute to training delivery, policy development, investigations, audits and wider consultancy projects. You'll manage your own caseload, build trusted client relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an exceptional service.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Provide employment law and HR advice across a broad range of workplace issues.
- Analyse complex situations and identify risks, options and practical solutions.
- Support clients with disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management and organisational change matters.
- Draft, review and update HR documentation, correspondence and policies.
- Deliver project-based support, including investigations, audits, training and consultancy work.
- Build strong relationships with clients through responsive, professional and solutions-focused support.
- Share knowledge and contribute to the continuous improvement of our services.
We're looking for an experienced HR and employment law professional who enjoys solving complex people challenges and delivering excellent client service.
You'll be able to quickly assess situations, ask insightful questions and translate employment law into clear, practical advice for non-HR specialists. You'll thrive in a fast-paced consultancy environment, confidently managing competing priorities while maintaining high standards.
You'll bring:
- Strong employment law knowledge and experience applying it in a practical HR setting.
- Experience advising on a broad range of employee relations matters.
- The ability to provide balanced, risk-based and commercially aware advice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective workload management and prioritisation skills.
- A customer-focused approach and commitment to delivering high-quality service.
- The ability to build credibility and trusted relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset and commitment to continuous learning and development.
- Experience with in an HR consultancy, advisory service or multi-client environment.
- Experience delivering training, investigations, project work or wider HR initiatives.
- 28 days holiday and get an extra day for each year you stay with us, up to max 33 days PLUS bank holidays
