We are seeking a professional HR Administrator to join a branch of a nationwide charity on a temporary part‑time basis. You will play a vital role in supporting the charity’s HR function, ensuring that all processes run smoothly, accurately and in line with best practice.
Working closely with the People & Culture Manager and frontline services, you'll help create the supportive working environment their staff need to deliver services to clients.
This is a part time interim role (4 days a week) with 2 days working at the charity’s offices in Croydon and 2 days working remotely.
Key Responsibilities- Manage end‑to‑end recruitment administration and onboarding and induction for new starters
- Respond to routine employee queries relating to HR policies, procedures, and processes
- Administer payroll, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with organisational policy
- Maintain and update the HRIS, ensuring employee records are accurate, secure, and compliant with GDPR
- Support compliance activities, including right‑to‑work checks, DBS/safeguarding checks, and policy adherence
- Support the implementation of DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) initiatives across the organisation
- Contribute to initiatives that promote employee wellbeing and a healthy, supportive workplace culture
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion, particularly given the nature of our services
- Proven experience in an HR/People Administrator role
- Experience in the charity/voluntary sector, or exposure to a safeguarding environment, is highly desirable
- Understanding of, and genuine commitment to, DEI and employee wellbeing principles
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
- A collaborative, proactive approach and the ability to work effectively within a small, close‑knit team.
This is an interim role with a rate of between £15-£16 per hour. The position is part time (working 4 days a week) with 2 days office based and 2 days working from home.
