About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and knowledgeable HR Compliance Specialist to join their team, this role will be fully remote. You will be responsible for ensuring that all HR practices and policies adhere to South African labor laws and regulations, mitigating risks and promoting ethical employment standards. This role requires a deep understanding of compliance requirements, strong analytical skills, and the ability to proactively identify and address potential issues.
The ideal candidate is adept at navigating complex legal landscapes and can effectively communicate compliance requirements to all levels of the organization in a remote-first capacity.
- Monitor and interpret changes in South African labor law and regulatory requirements impacting HR.
- Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Conduct regular audits of HR practices, records, and documentation to identify and rectify compliance gaps.
- Manage the preparation and submission of required HR-related reports to government agencies.
- Provide expert advice and training to HR staff and management on compliance matters.
- Investigate and resolve compliance issues, ensuring timely and appropriate action.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience specifically focused on HR compliance and labor law.
- In-depth knowledge of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, and other relevant legislation.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing HR policies and compliance programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience working remotely and managing compliance across distributed teams is highly desirable.
