Graduate HR Advisor

Our client is a well established manufacturing/logistics business based in West Yorkshire, operating within a complex, fast paced and commercially focused environment.

They are looking for a Graduate HR Adviser to join their HR team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious graduate who is looking to build a long-term career in HR. Working alongside experienced HR colleagues, you will develop your knowledge across a broad range of generalist HR activities while gaining valuable experience of supporting managers and employees within an operational environment.

You will gain exposure to employee relations, absence management, recruitment, HR projects, employee documentation, management information and wider people initiatives, providing a strong foundation from which to develop your HR career.

Working Hours
Monday to Friday – 37 ½ hours per week

The Role
As a Graduate HR Adviser, you will support the HR team in delivering a comprehensive generalist HR service across the business while developing your practical HR knowledge and professional capability.
You will work closely with experienced HR colleagues and managers across a varied operational workforce, providing support with day-to-day people matters and gradually taking on greater responsibility as your knowledge, confidence and experience develop.
This is a hands-on development role that will give you exposure to the practical application of employment law, HR policies and best practice, alongside opportunities to contribute to HR projects and wider people initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Support the HR team in providing advice and guidance to managers on day-to-day people matters
Assist with employee relations activity, including disciplinary, grievance and performance management processes
Develop your understanding of employment legislation, HR policies and best practice and how these are applied within the workplace
Support absence management processes and associated documentation
Assist with recruitment and selection activity across the business
Support the administration and application of family-friendly policies, including maternity, paternity and flexible working
Prepare and maintain accurate HR documentation, correspondence and employee records
Support HR projects and wider people initiatives
Assist with the production and analysis of HR metrics and management information
Build effective working relationships with managers and employees across the organisation
Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and practices
Undertake general HR activities and projects to broaden your knowledge and experience across the HR function
Produce accurate HR documentation ensuring compliance with current legislation

A degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management, Psychology or another relevant discipline
