Senior Leaves Management Specialist

Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:  As a Senior Leaves Management Specialist, you will lead the administration of leaves across Canada and the US. With support from the Manager, Health and Well-being, you will play a key role in process optimization and employee experience of management of all leaves and accommodations with a high degree of autonomy. This role will partner with both internal and external stakeholders in leading the end-to-end ownership of claims, including regulatory compliance, legislation and data reporting to People and Culture and Payroll teams.

This role is based out of our North Vancouver and is open to a hybrid remote work schedule with on-site support as required. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Program Administration, Process Optimization, and Compliance   Leading the administration of end-to-end leaves in Canada and US including but not limited to:
Short Term and Long-Term Disability, Maternity and Parental Leave, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), state and local paid family medical leaves, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other paid or unpaid leaves.
Proactively interpreting legislative changes, assessing operational impact and recommending updates to leave programs, policies and processes.
Leading the coordination of triaging leave requests with People and Culture Business Partners, Health and Safety and people leaders across the business. Owning the employer statements and claim submission forms as needed.
Ensuring timely updates to employee data and leave statuses in the HRIS and payroll systems.
Acting as an escalation point for complex and sensitive leaves with carriers and coordination of return-to-work processes, including accommodation letters and gradual schedules.
Calculating and reporting disability payments to payroll for weekly, biweekly and semi-monthly pay schedules.
Continuously monitoring leave procedures and policies to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in the overall leave management framework.
Providing reporting on leave trends to identify risks, cost drivers and workforce planning needs.
Education and Stakeholder Support   Serving as a subject matter expert and centralized resource for People and Culture, employees and people leaders on leave-related matters. Providing guidance and direction on sensitive and complex cases.
Developing and delivering education/training and communication materials as needed related to leave programs.

You have a minimum of 4 years relevant experience in human resources, leave and absence management or disability programs, ideally with exposure to US state programs and regulations.
You have deep knowledge of regulatory requirements and coordination of state and provincial leaves with government and employer-sponsored programs.
