HR Generalist - Employee Relations Specialist

Our client is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented HR Generalist with a specialization in employee relations to join their team in Tembisa, Gauteng . This role requires a proactive individual who can manage a broad range of HR functions, with a particular focus on fostering a positive and productive work environment. You will be instrumental in supporting both management and employees by providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.

• Manage and resolve employee relations issues, including grievances, disputes, and disciplinary actions, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
• Provide guidance and support to line managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
• Assist in the recruitment and onboarding process, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for new hires.
• Administer employee benefits programs and assist with payroll queries.
• Support performance management processes and assist in the development of training programs.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
• Participate in HR projects and initiatives as required.
• Facilitate return-to-work programs and manage employee health and safety matters.

• A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in a generalist HR role, with a strong emphasis on employee relations.
• Thorough knowledge of South African labour law and HR best practices.
• Proven experience in managing disciplinary processes, investigations, and grievance procedures.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing in-office and remote responsibilities.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems and standard office software.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Discretion and a high level of professionalism when handling sensitive information.
