HR Manager | Birkenhead | £35,000–£45,000 DOE | Permanent | Hybrid
Are you an experienced HR professional looking for a role where you can take ownership and make a real impact?
We’re recruiting for a growing engineering business in Birkenhead who are looking for an experienced HR Manager / HR Generalist to take ownership of their in-house HR function.
This is a hands-on, standalone HR role offering genuine autonomy and the opportunity to develop HR processes, policies and procedures from the ground up. You’ll work closely with senior management and employees across the business, with hybrid working and just 1–2 days per week in the office.
The Role
* Take ownership of the day-to-day HR function.
* Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures and processes.
* Provide HR advice and support throughout the employee lifecycle.
* Manage recruitment, onboarding, probation and leavers.
* Advise managers on absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance matters.
* Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance.
* Coordinate training, development and employee engagement.
* Support the company’s Sponsorship Licence and Home Office requirements.
* Work alongside external HR and employment law specialists.
* Identify and implement improvements to HR systems and processes.
About You
* CIPD Level 5 qualified – essential.
* Previous experience as an HR Manager, HR Generalist, HR Advisor or HR Officer.
* Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
* Confident handling employee relations and advising managers.
* Highly organised, approachable and commercially aware.
* Comfortable working independently and building processes from scratch.

* £35,000–£45,000 salary, depending on experience.
