The Ancillary Application Analyst is a full-time position with 80% on-site work and 20% remote work. The role is located in Jackson, MO.
Responsibilities- Create project and operational support documentation, including requirement documents, process and data flow diagrams, solution design specifications, implementation plans and testing scripts, and reporting of results.
- Maintain database information for facility/department personnel on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, ensuring accessibility of accurate information to personnel as needed.
- Prepare and distribute weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports in accordance with established guidelines or as requested.
- Assist department staff with project-related work as needed or requested.
- Review, analyze, and evaluate user needs; document findings and recommend changes to processes to increase system effectiveness for end users.
- Perform all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and applicable professional standards.
- Provide knowledge of product features, functionality, and utilization of the application software.
- Utilize system analysis techniques, including consulting with users to determine software application/system functional specifications.
- Design, develop, analyze, test, and train modifications made to software applications based on user design specifications.
- Manage stakeholder expectations by analyzing expectations and requirements.
- Identify project issues and risks and resolve or escalate as appropriate.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to complete tasks.
- Lead or actively participate in meetings.
- Monitor system effectiveness and performance to identify potential problems, report critical findings, and resolve complex problems.
- Develop and maintain test scripts to reflect proposed workflow solutions.
- Review and test changes, interfaces, data conversion, enhancements, and each new release as assigned.
- Participate in disaster recovery initiatives.
- Support the training team by informing trainers of new functionality and system changes.
- Provide on-site support during go-lives and system upgrades.
- Provide 24/7 support when scheduled and triage support calls as applicable.
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing, information management, computer science, healthcare administration or equivalent;
Master’s degree or certification in health informatics preferred. - Background or knowledge of departments using the respective applications and the healthcare organization as a whole.
- Two years’ Meditech Expanse experience preferred, not required.
- Current knowledge of regulatory standards and the impact on business operations.
- Obtain and maintain system certifications, if applicable.
- Equivalent proven work experience and technical training with some college will be considered.
- Experience in IT areas such as generating reports and presenting information; SQL or equivalent report writing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field related to system functions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with internal and external customers and department staff.
- Self-motivated with the ability to follow hospital policies, procedures, and practices.
- English sufficient to provide and receive instruction; ability to follow verbal directions and organize tasks.
- Strong research and data-gathering abilities with capability to interpret data to develop policies, procedures, or solutions within a healthcare setting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to sit and stand for intermittent 8 to 10 hours a day.
- Must be able to use standard office equipment, including telephone and keyboard.
- Ability to work under pressure with near 100% accuracy while meeting deadlines.
- Able to use manual/dexterous movements, near vision, and hearing.
- Frequently stands, walks, sits, and demonstrates eye/hand coordination and color definition.
- Occasionally reaches above shoulder; regularly lifts/carries up to 40 lbs.
- Occassionally walks on uneven surfaces.
