Position Summary
The University of New Mexico (UNM) has a full-time Systems/Network Analyst 3 (Database Administrator) opening on the Albuquerque Main Campus. The position will be part of the UNM IT Computing Platforms - Database Team. The DBA team provides technical support in Banner ERP (architecture, installation, and upgrades), enterprise Oracle databases and Microsoft SQL Server databases, Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, SQL performance tuning, and other enterprise applications.
Primary responsibilities of this position include:
The successful candidate will demonstrate skills and knowledge in some of the following - Oracle 19c database on Red Hat Enterprise Linux; SQL Server database on Windows; database backup, recovery, monitoring and diagnostics; and Banner ERP. This position requires on-call work and flexibility to work occasional overtime, nights and/or weekends.

Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred QualificationsPreferred Skills Include:
- Oracle 19c database installation, configuration, support, and monitoring experience.
- SQL Server 2016/2017/2019 installation, configuration and support experience.
- Banner ERP installation, configuration, upgrade, support, and monitoring experience.
- SQL
* Plus and PL/SQL knowledge. - Oracle and SQL Server database backup and recovery.
- Oracle database performance tuning.
- Linux command line and scripting skills.
- ITIL certification a plus.
- Database support experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate across multiple groups to complete project assignments.
- Ability to perform problem resolution and on-call support for database services.
- Flexibility to work nights and/or weekends, as needed for upgrades and maintenance.
