JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Computer Network Technician

Duty Station: Washington State, USA

Reports To: Sr. Field Technician Manager

Job Summary

A Computer Network Technician at Omnivir is a team player with effective interpersonal skills. They have a client‑centric focus, take initiative, use good judgment, and are well organized. They work with a high level of accuracy and great attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks.

An Omnivir Network Technician has excellent oral & written communication skills, along with an ability to work well under pressure, in a fast‑paced environment with tight deadlines. Our technicians must be available at least 2‑3 days per week, Monday – Friday. Technicians also commute to client sites, and therefore, a personal reliable vehicle is a requirement.

Key Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with professionalism, a commitment to excellence, and attention to detail.

Technicians must be available for work at least 2‑3 days during weekdays, not weekends or weeknights.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks and computer workstations, and peripheral equipment
  • Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software
  • Load computer tapes and disks and install software and printer paper and forms
  • Provide problem‑solving services to network users
  • Perform routine network startup and shut down and maintain control records
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade Web‑server hardware and software
  • Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet

Computer & Technology Knowledge

The Computer Network Technician should also be familiar with and have technical knowledge of:

  • MS Windows
  • Internet
  • Device drivers
  • Networking software
  • Networking hardware
  • Intranet
  • Servers
  • Mail server software
  • Desktop publishing software
  • MS Office
  • Desktop applications

Job Types: Part‑time, On Call

Pay: $25.00 per hour
