Application Developer II; SQL

We are seeking an Application Developer II to join our Data & Analytics team. This role plays a key part in supporting and developing data-driven applications that handle essential business processes such as ledgering, reinsurance, and analytics data processing.

• Develop, enhance, and maintain applications and automated processes supporting data operations.
• Support daily data processing activities, ensuring data integrity and system performance.
• Participate in the migration of legacy SQL Server processes to Yellowbrick (Postgre
  
  SQL).
• Develop and maintain Power Shell scripts to manage data movement and system tasks.
• Conduct structured code reviews and ensure compliance with internal standards.
• Collaborate with team members to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across environments.
• Participate in on‑call rotations to provide production support as part of a shared schedule.
• Contribute to the design and documentation of database and system solutions.
• Prepare accurate test data and participate in testing reviews to identify and address potential issues.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve process efficiency and automation.
• Track and resolve defects, document fixes, and communicate dependencies according to established standards.
• Work closely with project managers to provide accurate time estimates, communicate deviations, and ensure timely delivery of assigned tasks.

• Must‑Have: SQL Server and/or Postgre
  
  SQL and Power Shell scripting
• Nice‑to‑Have: Python and Power BI or similar reporting tools, experience with data migration projects or modern database platforms (e.g., Postgre
  
  SQL, Yellowbrick)

• 2+ years of experience in application or software development
• Strong SQL development and scripting experience
• Solid analytical and problem‑solving skills
  
  Excellent teamwork and communication abilities

• Strong problem‑solving and critical thinking abilities
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently in a remote environment
• Collaborative approach and willingness to support team goals
• High attention to detail and accountability for deliverables

• Remote role, aligned with the candidate’s local time zone
• Preferred schedule: 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time

• This job does not have supervisory duties.
