Arch Capital Group offers an opportunity for an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to lead the data architecture function for Data Management, enabling the organization to become data‑driven and AI‑enabled. The role ensures architecture standards, best practices, guidance, and data management governance for end‑to‑end data delivery across the group.

Base pay range: $122,000 – $149,000 per year.

Location‑based ranges (2024):

• North Carolina: $122,000 – $149,000
• Morristown, NJ: $142,000 – $173,000
• Jersey City, NJ;
  White Plains, NY: $157,000 – $180,000

• Work with the Chief Data Architect to drive the enterprise data management function and roadmap aligning with Arch's Data & AI strategy.
• Maintain market solution architecture designs and playbooks for modern data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake) and strategic data platform & analytics capabilities.
• Ensure successful delivery of data management initiatives with solution and data architects.
• Own the target state enterprise data management platforms and oversee transition from current state per segment, bringing new capabilities where needed.
• Lead the Data Management Center of Excellence covering all aspects of data management and tooling.
• Manage vendor relationships across data management tooling.
• Steer and quantify the value of data platform transformation. Shape overall data management roadmaps with domain SMEs for a coherent data view across Arch.

• Data architecture expertise with strong experience delivering transformative programs with large data management footprints.
• Experience in architecting and driving Data Governance, Master Data Management, Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Access Management, and Data privacy across a global enterprise.
• Experience in modern data warehousing and a solid technical understanding of modern cloud systems.
• Experience with Snowflake/Databricks at enterprise level and deep knowledge of the ecosystems.
• Experience with ingestion, transformation, visualization, and metadata management tools (e.g., Snowflake, Azure services, dbt Cloud, Collibra).
• Experience delivering data products aligned to business requirements and data mesh principles in modern data warehousing.
• Proven leadership of successful technical adoption of modern data management capabilities into an enterprise organization.
• Strong senior stakeholder communication, including executive communication.

Located in North East offices (Raleigh, Jersey City, or Hartford) or within close proximity for fully remote work.
