$90,000.00/yr - $/yr

The company is a fast-paced marketing agency that designs and builds high-performing websites for brands across a variety of industries. Their team blends creative design, strategic storytelling, and technical excellence to deliver digital experiences that drive results.

They’re looking for a Senior Word Press Developer/Web Department Lead to lead the development of attractive, functional, and high-performing websites for their clients. You’ll oversee all aspects of front-end and back-end Word Press development, from architecture to deployment — and guide other Developers to deliver polished, optimized results.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys collaborating with designers and marketers, solving technical challenges, and building websites that not only look great but perform flawlessly.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of custom Word Press websites from concept through launch.
  • Collaborate with designers to translate mockups and wireframes into pixel-perfect, responsive websites.
  • Architect and implement clean, scalable code for both front-end and back-end development.
  • Customize and maintain Word Press themes and plugins, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Manage the website back-end, including database and server integration.
  • Build with SEO, accessibility, and site speed best practices in mind.
  • Configure and maintain Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and other tracking tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve site issues efficiently.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, plugin testing, and security updates.
  • Oversee, mentor, and review the work of Word Press Developers in the department.
  • Coordinate with project managers and account leads to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
  • Document development processes and maintain organized code repositories.
  • Participate in client meetings as needed to discuss technical strategy or functionality.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 7+ years of Word Press development experience (agency experience strongly preferred).
  • 2+ years of leadership or team management experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Word Press architecture, themes, and plugin development.
  • Experience with Elementor or similar page builders.
  • Familiarity with DNS management, cPanel, and email configuration.
  • Proficiency with Git or other version control systems.
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs and data formats (JSON, XML).
  • Understanding of technical SEO and web performance optimization.
  • Proven ability to improve Page Speed Insights scores and site speed.
  • Experience setting up and managing Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Excellent knowledge of Modern CSS and HTML

  • Experienced in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and Adobe XD
  • Experienced in Figma
  • Experienced in planning and managing a complete website build from creation to launch
  • Ability to solve conflicts and manage team member/client deadlines
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines
  • Ability to explain technical terminology in non-technical terms
