Job Description Background
The Pharmacy Support Contract Plus (POSC+) provides program management and administrative support to the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Pharmacy Operations Division (POD). The POD provides policy guidance and coordinates the Department of Defense (DoD) pharmacy policy with the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs and the individual uniform services through the Pharmacy Enterprise Support Activity. The POD is responsible for management of the TRICARE Pharmacy Benefits Program which offers pharmacy services to 9.6 million DoD eligible beneficiaries.
PositionSummary
The IIB Database Administrator will support various government database that are critical to the DoD Pharmacy Benefit.
Essential Job Functions- Create and support custom applications using VBA, SQL, and MS Office to support various needs.
- Troubleshoot and solve errors with database applications.
- Develop SQL Server databases and provide user support.
- Support databases through ODBC and SSMS.
- Provide end user support for SQL Server and other database tools.
- Download external data sources and update internal databases to reflect changed (e.g. Medical Master Catalog (MMC, FCB, etc.)
- Meet with the team and customers to collect requirements for current and future projects.
- The contractor shall organize work group meetings and record minutes for meetings as required.
- The contractor shall attend meetings as requested and perform other related duties as assigned.
- Acquire one of the following DBA certifications:
- Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP-DBA)
- Microsoft Certified Database Admin Associate
- Oracle Certified Professional or Master (OCP/OCM)
- IBM DBA (DB2)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in utilization and management of ODBC and SQL databases
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with Visual Basic and Transact-SQL programming
- Security+ certification
- Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and transition between projects
- Ability to work both independently and effectively in teams
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- Healthcare experience, preferably pharmacy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Applications:
Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Vision, Word
- Remote work in a private and suitable location
- Private secure high efficiency home internet access
- Private secure high efficiency telecommunications
- Standard Monday through Friday day schedule, but may travel and/or work weekends and extended hours if needed with approval of program manager and government leads
