Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) was created with the purpose of providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUS. CARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplace.
Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions is seeking aService Now Developerto support the EMS program for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). This role will be responsible for the design, development, customization, and support of solutions built on the Service Now platform. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience working with Service Now modules, scripting, integrations, and workflows in a secure federal environment.
Responsibilities- Develop and customize Service Now applications, workflows, and catalog items using JavaScript, Glide API, and Flow Designer.
- Design and implement integrations between Service Now and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs.
- Support and enhance existing Service Now applications (e.g., ITSM, CMDB, Change Management, Incident/Problem/Request).
- Collaborate with project leaders, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and propose technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Implement Service Now platform upgrades and patches in compliance with change management policies.
- Maintain documentation related to design, configuration, development, and testing activities.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, and security standards within a DoD/IC environment.
- Participate in Agile sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field OR
- High school diploma or GED equivalent with 7+ years of relevant experience
- 3+ years of experience with Service Now development and administration.
- Required - Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA) or higher (e.g., Application Developer, Implementation Specialist).
- Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and working with Service Now’s Glide API.
- Experience with Service Now modules such as ITSM, CMDB, and custom application development.
- Service Now platform best practices and system performance tuning.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and Dev Sec Ops pipelines.
- Active TS/SCI clearance(required upon start).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Preferred – Implementation Specialist, Certified Application Developer.
- Experience with platform security configurations (e.g., ACLs, roles, encryption).
- Preferred - Experience working on DoD or IC programs.
- Familiarity with platform security configurations (e.g., ACLs, roles, encryption).
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD tools integrated with Service Now.
- Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
- Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
- Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting, as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
- Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, and previous customer service experience strongly desired.
