Federal Observability Engineer (Clearance Required - Secret)
Hybrid Remote & On-Site – Locations: AL, UT, PA, OK
Salary: $ - $ per year
You will be part of a larger technical team, working as an Observability Engineer in an Ops Ramp environment. You will design, implement, and maintain observability infrastructure that provides deep insights into the health, performance, and behavior of HPE’s PCE environment and Cloud infrastructure in support of a Federal Customer. You will collaborate with development, ops, and other teams to proactively identify and resolve issues, improve system performance, and optimize resource utilization.

- Secret Clearance Required
- Flexible hybrid role – must work onsite at customer location as needed
- DD8750 – Security Plus or higher security certification (CISSP, CASP, etc.)
- OS level certifications are a plus
- Bachelor's degree preferred or Associate degree with 6‑8 years of related experience
- Manage Ops Ramp platform capabilities: metrics collection & analysis, log management, alerting & notifications, automated workflows, reporting & dashboards.
- Design, implement, and maintain observability solutions using Ops Ramp and integrate with other tools (Prometheus, Datadog, Elastic Stack).
- Ensure data quality and integrity in Ops Ramp.
- Utilize Ops Ramp data to troubleshoot performance issues, application errors, and operational problems.
- Collaborate with development and ops to root‑cause problems and accelerate resolution.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize Ops Ramp performance, stay updated on new features, and implement improvements.
- Mon‑Fri 9 am–5 pm (flexible to work evenings and weekends as required)
- Monthly rotation schedule required
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Go, Bash)
- Experience with SQL and No
SQL databases - Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP)
- Proven experience with Ops Ramp platform (strong plus)
- Experience with at least one other observability tool (Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic Stack, Splunk) preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
