We are seeking an experienced and proactive AWS Dev Ops Specialist to join our growing infrastructure team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about automation, cloud infrastructure, and scalable, secure systems. The ideal candidate brings expertise in AWS services, infrastructure as code, cost reduction strategies and Dev Ops best practices. You will play a key role in improving system performance, reliability, and security, while contributing to CI/CD pipelines and participating in an on‑call rotation.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who has a multitude of skills in Dev Ops and System Administration and can wear many hats and loves problem solving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain automation using Ansible and Ansible Tower.
  • Deploy and configure RHEL‑based systems.
  • Maintain database performance and management, including routing, pooling, and role administration.
  • Architect and manage AWS services such as RDS (Postgre

    SQL), EC2, EKS, Cloud Formation, Cloud Front, Guard Duty, VPN, and AWS AD.
  • Implement autoscaling for EC2 and EKS, monitor performance, and optimize system health.
  • Improve database performance, shard strategies, and health metrics.
  • Maintain backups and disaster‑recovery recovery point objectives.
  • Support SOC II compliance initiatives through infrastructure hardening, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Manage VPCs, subnets, security groups, VPNs, and endpoint connectivity.
  • Analyze AWS billing and recommend cost‑saving strategies.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to deliver automation code from development to production.
  • Ensure high availability and zero‑downtime deployments through automation best practices.
  • Develop and maintain local development environments for developers.
  • Collaborate in cross‑functional teams and propose scalable solutions to infrastructure problems.
  • Oversee end‑user systems and infrastructure endpoints, ensuring security and stability.
  • Manage patching, remediation, and adherence to policies.
  • Participate in an on‑call rotation to respond to production incidents and infrastructure issues.
Requirements
  • Experience with Ansible and Ansible Tower in RHEL environments.
  • Linux/RHEL expert able to design, deploy, and troubleshoot systemd services, SFTP, and more.
  • Proficiency in Git, peer review of automation code.
  • Monitoring expertise with Splunk, Grafana, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of NGINX and basic web‑server stacks.
  • Strong understanding of AWS, especially RDS (Postgre

    SQL), Cloud Formation, EC2, and EKS.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerization.
  • Database sharding and performance tuning experience.
  • CI/CD pipeline design and implementation.
  • Familiarity with SOC II compliance frameworks.
  • Managing AWS networking, VPNs, and AWS AD.
  • Security‑first mindset using AWS Org, AWS Tower, Cloud Front, and related tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Nice‑to‑Have
  • Experience with LAMP/LNPP stacks.
  • SVN familiarity.
  • Active Directory experience and basic Windows management.
  • Endpoint management platform experience.
  • Proactive monitoring/observability tooling.
  • Prior involvement in security audits or compliance initiatives.
