Junior Software Developer - Automation Solutions

Overview

Ensign Services, Inc. (ESI) seeks a Junior Software Developer - Automation Solutions to support our growing client base across the United States. This is a remote position serving select geographies where ESI’s clients operate.

We are building a new team and seeking motivated, early-career developers who want to shape its success. This role is designed for someone with a strong foundational skill set who is eager to learn, grow, and work across multiple areas, including development, testing, analysis, and solution design. You will design, build, and maintain automation solutions that support and improve business operations and gain exposure to multiple technologies, platforms, and processes.

You do not need years of experience; we are looking for someone with strong problem-solving skills, a willingness to learn, and the drive to take on challenges in a collaborative environment.

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of automation solutions under the guidance of senior team members.
• Assist in enhancing and modernizing existing applications, processes, and integrations.
• Write, test, and maintain code in languages such as Python and JavaScript/Node.js.
• Support projects involving both on-premises systems and cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
• Participate in data integration tasks, including connecting to SQL databases, APIs, and file-based data sources.
• Help develop and configure workflows and applications using low-code and BPM platforms.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and participate in iterative improvements.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to refine and communicate your ideas.

• Education/Knowledge:
  Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field, or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and expertise in software design, development, and architecture.
• Experience:
  
  1–2 years of hands-on software development, automation, or related technical work.
• Technical
  
  Skills:
  • Experience with at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript/Node.js preferred).
  • Familiarity with relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, or Postgre
    
    SQL).
  • Basic understanding of APIs and how to consume them.
  • Exposure to cloud services, preferably AWS.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum concepts and team-based development.
  • Problem-solving: ability to break down challenges and propose logical steps.
  • Collaboration:
    
    strong interpersonal skills to work with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Nice to Have:
    Exposure to low-code tools, workflow automation platforms, or experience in accounting or healthcare environments.

  Remote with base at our Service Center in Sallas-Fort Worth, TX.

  Full-time, exempt.
• Salary: $85,500 - $115,000 (DOE).
