About the Role

As an Engineering Manager for Charlotte AI at Crowd Strike, you will build and support teams that develop and maintain our generative AI‑powered virtual security analyst. You will focus on the wellbeing and professional growth of all team members, drive hiring to scale, foster an open, collaborative environment, and ensure roadmap delivery remains on track. You will work with cloud, SDET, frontend engineers, and AI/ML data scientists to deliver AI‑powered security systems that customers use 24/7 to defend against sophisticated adversaries.

You will collaborate with product managers and design teams to optimize roadmap and maintain a consistent user experience across products.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and build one or more teams of engineers focused on AI/ML, backend systems, and UI/UX.
  • Manage organizational structure, workload, and project resourcing in a highly distributed environment with rapid iteration cycles.
  • Support team wellbeing – provide guidance on resourcing, progress, and soft skills; coach team members in AI/ML and distributed systems.
  • Drive the recruitment pipeline from initial contact to onboarding, emphasizing AI and cybersecurity expertise.
  • Contribute to the product roadmap, setting up the group to deliver over the next 12–18 months; share progress with managers and peers.
  • Participate in quarterly roadmap planning, prioritizing AI/ML projects based on team capacity and business objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with AI/ML researchers, data scientists, and security experts to push AI in cyber defense.
  • Enjoy solving challenging problems at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity.
What You’ll Need
  • Strong engineering track record and deep technical knowledge, preferably in AI/ML, distributed systems, or cloud‑native architectures.
  • Experience with GenAI, LLMs, or agentic systems.
  • Experience mentoring and supporting people and teams with empathy and professionalism, especially in fast‑paced, innovation‑driven environments.
  • Experience leading multiple teams to success in rapid iteration cycles.
  • Experience working with Product Managers and UX Designers on requirement analysis and engineering solution design for AI‑powered products.
  • Track record of shaping short‑ to medium‑term product roadmaps for customer‑facing products.
  • Experience planning, tracking, delivering, and managing multiple projects in startup‑like environments.
  • Understanding of modern software development practices: microservices, cloud platforms, and agile methodologies.
Bonus Points
  • Known experience with technical teams, cybersecurity, and AI/ML startups.
  • Experience with cloud‑native technologies (Go, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS).
  • Experience in remote‑first environments and global teams.
  • Familiarity with data pipelines, vector databases, and AI model training and deployment.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity domain knowledge and security operations.

Periodic background and fingerprint checks consistent with government customer requirements are required.
