Network & Systems Administrator; Fractional, Part-Time

About the Role

Metro Sys is seeking a Network & Systems Administrator to provide fractional IT support for one of our clients. This role is ideal for a versatile IT professional with strong experience in patch management, vulnerability management, systems/network troubleshooting, and Tier 2 help desk support
.

The candidate will work closely with the client’s existing IT team to ensure secure, stable, and optimized operations while providing direct support for escalated technical issues.

• Perform patch management and routine system updates across servers, endpoints, and network devices.

• Conduct vulnerability management assessments and assist in remediation planning.

• Troubleshoot and resolve system and network issues escalated beyond Tier 1 support.

• Provide Tier 2 help desk support
  , including Windows OS, applications, and connectivity issues.

• Assist with documentation and reporting related to IT operations, patching, and vulnerabilities.

• Collaborate with the client’s IT team to ensure IT processes align with security best practices.

• 3–5 years of experience in systems and network administration
  .

• Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, patching tools, and vulnerability management platforms
  .

• Solid troubleshooting skills across network and systems infrastructure
  .

• Experience providing Tier 2 end-user support in a professional environment.

• Familiarity with security compliance frameworks (PCI, HIPAA, NIST) is a plus.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

• Ability to work independently in a fractional, remote capacity
