Solution Architect

Salary Range $148K-174K DOE, plus Health, Dental, Life, STD, LTD, 401k, PTO.

Our growing Enterprise Solutions Architecture Team has formed out of a high demand in our Enterprise clients needing leadership to deploy the Dynatrace platform at extreme scale, many of the Solution Architects design and develop valuable solutions either during our engagements or innovating significant ways to support the delivery of our engagements.

The Solution Architects on the team are expected to refine and grow their skills and responsibilities in development, Dev Ops, Business Intelligence, cloud, security and infrastructure, log analytics, and various other aspects of the Dynatrace Platform. Our team members find this job incredibly engaging, very demanding at times but extremely rewarding.

The Solution Architect role is a combination of an infrastructure, automation expert, coder, trusted advisor and cloud services authority who will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of our monitoring solutions executed through a well-defined, repeatable services engagement model. Our ESA team members perform most of their responsibilities remotely at a home office and will have moderate to minimal travel from time to time.

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
• 2-3+ years hands-on design and programming in some object-oriented language, preferably in a Java or .NET environment, preferably on medium-to-large online systems. This is not a programming position, but our team routinely works with customer developers and architects and must have these skills to be credible. Appropriate university-level programming coursework may be acceptable
• 5+ years consulting, presales, or support experience with application-focused software requiring interactions outside of the data center (other APM tools; large, packaged apps; not simply infrastructure)
• Architectural understanding of either the JEE or .NET platform and how it works, and a self-directed willingness to learn about other platform and “new stack” technologies such as PHP, node.js, Docker, etc.
• Experience with data presentation via charts and dashboards
• Understanding of code- and container-level performance tuning, troubleshooting, and architecture best practices in large multi-tier and SOA-based applications
• Proven problem-solving nature, with an engaged, self-motivated, can-do attitude
• Comfortable doing common Windows and Linux administration, and with Linux/UNIX command line
• Comfortable creating and maintaining personal virtual machines (Windows and Linux guest OSes) with products such VMWare Workstation, Parallels, or Virtual Box
• Excellent verbal and written English or regional communication skills and attention to detail
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and build relationships with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
