Federal Observability Engineer – Secret Clearance, Hybrid Remote / On‑Site (AL, UT, PA, OK)
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is hiring a Federal Observability Engineer to design, build, and maintain observability infrastructure using Ops Ramp and related tools for a federal customer. This role is primarily remote but requires onsite presence at the customer location when needed.

Secret - Flexible hybrid role; must work onsite at customer location as required
- Mon–Fri 9 a.m.–5 p.m.; must be flexible for evenings and weekends if required
- Monthly rotation schedule required
- Deeply understand and utilize Ops Ramp platform for metrics collection & analysis, log management, alerting & notifications, automation, and reporting & dashboards.
- Design, implement, and maintain observability solutions using Ops Ramp as core technology.
- Integrate Ops Ramp with other monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Datadog, Elastic Stack, etc.
- Ensure data quality and integrity within Ops Ramp.
- Use Ops Ramp data to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, application errors, and other operational problems.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to identify root causes and fix issues.
- Participate in incident response activities to accelerate resolution.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize Ops Ramp platform performance and effectiveness.
- Stay updated on latest Ops Ramp features, enhancements, and best practices.
- Proactively identify improvement areas and implement necessary changes.
- Certifications required: DD8750 – Security Plus or higher (CISSP, CASP, etc).
- OS level certifications are a plus.
- Associate/Bachelor’s degree in technical field preferred.
- 6‑8 years of related experience desirable.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Go, Bash).
- Experience with SQL and No
SQL databases. - Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP).
- Proven experience with Ops Ramp platform is a strong plus.
- Experience with at least one other observability tool (Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic Stack, Splunk) is preferred.
