WordPress Developer

Straight North is seeking a skilled and experienced Word Press developer to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for developing visually appealing and user-friendly websites that enhance the overall digital experience for our clients' target audiences. You will collaborate closely with designers, copywriters and project managers to bring concepts to life, ensuring seamless integration of design and functionality across various digital platforms.

You will also support updates to our company and client websites to improve various aspects of design, functionality, SEO and conversion.

This is a flexible remote/office position in our Downers Grove, IL office requiring one day in the office per week.

• Collaborate with designers to translate mockups and wireframes into pixel-perfect UI components.
• Optimize website performance and user experience through efficient coding practices and UI enhancements.
• Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in front-end development, and actively contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

• 3-5+ years of proven experience as a front-end developer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your previous work.
• Strong understanding of the Word Press ecosystem, site architecture, theme building, and best practices.
• Experience and understanding of Git workflows and working with Git for all code changes.
• Experience with SCSS/SASS with a basic understanding of Mixins and Extends.
• Experience with Advanced Custom Fields and Word Press plugin development is a plus.
• Experience working with multiple CMS platforms a plus.
• Knowledge of technical SEO best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
