Job DescriptionThe Program Aide supports developers, designers, and content managers in building, maintaining, and improving Word Press websites and full‑stack software solutions for Agri Life Research. This position involves hands‑on work with front‑end development, HTML/CSS styling, Word Press theme and plugin customization, and accessibility compliance. The role focuses on learning and collaboration while delivering valuable contributions to internal and public‑facing digital platforms.
Responsibilities- Assist with Word Press site setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
- Develop and edit web content using HTML, CSS, and Word Press block‑based editors (e.g., Gutenberg).
- Support theme customization, plugin integration, and troubleshooting for Word Press environments.
- Participate in code review, accessibility evaluation, and quality assurance testing.
- Contribute to writing and updating user and technical documentation.
- Assist with tracking project milestones and site migrations in coordination with developers and product managers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year of related IT or web content management experience.
- Ability to multi‑task and work cooperatively with others.
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and content structure within a CMS.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's or higher in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
- More than two years of experience working in Word Press or similar CMS environments.
- Experience building or maintaining public‑facing websites using HTML, CSS, and modern web frameworks.
- Experience with accessibility and responsive design principles.
- Familiarity with Word Press administration, including theme customization, plugin management, and user roles.
- Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive front‑end design.
- Experience with accessibility testing tools (e.g., Siteimprove, WAVE) and WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
- Understanding of version control (Git) and website deployment workflows.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and communicate technical details clearly.
- Interest in supporting research and outreach through modern web technologies.
- Hourly pay: $21.00 per hour
- Schedule:
19 hours per week
