Network Optimization

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced freelance Senior Network Performance Optimization Engineer to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across our global enterprise network infrastructure. Our critical business applications are experiencing intermittent latency and throughput issues, impacting user experience and operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will conduct in-depth network performance analysis, recommend, and assist in implementing solutions to optimize our LAN, WAN, and cloud network segments. This role requires a meticulous approach to data analysis and a deep understanding of network protocols and performance tuning.

• Perform comprehensive network performance assessments, including latency, jitter, packet loss, and throughput analysis across various network segments.
• Utilize network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, Solar Winds, PRTG, Net Flow analyzers) to gather and analyze performance data.
• Identify root causes of network slowdowns, congestion, and intermittent issues.
• Propose detailed and actionable recommendations for network optimization, including QoS adjustments, routing protocol tuning, link aggregation, network device configuration, and cloud network optimization.
• Assist in the implementation of recommended changes and validate their effectiveness through post-optimization testing.
• Provide expert advice on network capacity planning and future-proofing the network for growth.
• Develop clear and concise reports documenting findings, recommendations, and implemented solutions.
• Advise on network security best practices related to performance.

Required

Skills & Experience:

• Extensive experience (7+ years) in network performance monitoring, analysis, and optimization in complex enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise in TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), MPLS, VPNs, and WAN optimization technologies.
• Proficiency with network diagnostic and monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, iPerf, Net Flow, SNMP, Solar Winds, PRTG, Cisco Prime).
• Strong understanding of QoS mechanisms and their application.
• Experience with cloud networking concepts (AWS VPC, Azure VNet, Direct Connect, Express Route) and cloud performance optimization.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP Enterprise, CCIE, JNCIE-SP, CompTIA Network+) are highly valued.
