Senior Engineering Manager - Workday Financials; HYBRID

We are adding an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Workday Financials technology team within the Finance Technology organization.

• Define strategy and manage a roadmap aligned with stakeholders’ needs for the Workday Financials system.
• Provide technical direction and organizational leadership for a team of Engineers who design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain Workday Financials systems.
• Present vision and strategic recommendations with clarity and concision to stakeholders of varying technology fluency.
• Build and nurture a high‑performing technology team, providing mentorship, coaching, and guidance to foster continuous learning.
• Champion engineering quality, including unit testing, automation testing, and security testing.
• Work closely with the GEICO Finance organization to manage, innovate, and create programs for the associate experience.
• Foster effective collaboration and communication across teams to align priorities and ensure smooth coordination for incident response, system maintenance, and upgrades.
• Manage resource allocation, vendor relationships, and optimization of costs while maintaining high‑quality outcomes.

• Proven experience implementing Workday Financials at a large enterprise.
• Deep knowledge of Workday development tools, including EIB, Workday Studio, and Workday Cloud Platform.
• Experience architecting and implementing new and current Workday Financial systems.
• Experience leading the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of complex integrations.
• Familiarity with cloud security best practices and compliance standards.
• Experience deploying applications in Azure, AWS, or a similar public cloud environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate to senior leadership and highly technical personnel.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and proactive approach in an ambiguous environment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with a passion for mentoring and fostering professional growth.

• 10+ years of ERP software architecture and implementation coding experience, with 6+ years specifically with Workday Financials.
• 5+ years of leadership and management of development teams.
• 5+ years of development in a large‑scale, mission‑critical environment.
• 3+ years of experience with automated testing, including unit, integration, and end‑to‑end functional testing.

This is a hybrid role working locally out of one of the following hubs:

• Palo Alto, CA
• Dallas, TX
• Chevy Chase/Bethesda, MD
