Our client, a biopharmaceutical company, has an opening for a Solutions Architect to oversee a complex program with a goal to be a strategic advisor in regard to architecture, business process mapping, and data modeling.

The Solution Architect is responsible for designing and delivering technology solutions that meet business needs while adhering to enterprise standards. They translate conceptual and logical architectures into implementable physical designs, ensuring solutions are secure, compliant, and scalable. This role partners closely with analysts, engineers, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure design integrity from planning through implementation.
This role will primarily be a remote position
; however, it may require onsite attendance for workshops approximately 2–3 times over the contract engagement.
Contract Duration: 6 months (strong potential to extend to a year)
Location: North Chicago, IL (Lake County area)
Required Skills & Experience- Minimum 7 years of experience in Solutions Architecture.
- Experience with simulation applications, AI applications, GenAI, and Machine learning.
- Experience with creation of documentation.
- Strong technical depth across application, data, and integration design.
- Awareness of cross-domain interactions and dependencies.
- Delivery-focused with attention to timelines and quality.
- Excellent communication across business and technical audiences.
- Compliance, risk, and security awareness.
- Design and document physical solution architectures for assigned projects.
- Define integration, data, and deployment models.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise standards, ARB governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with BAs, engineers, and security/infrastructure teams.
- Guide development and validate solutions against design.
- Maintain architecture documentation and reusable patterns.
- Participate in post-implementation reviews and lessons learned.
- Will include tools like multivariate data analysis or anomaly detection, golden-backed monitoring, predictive quality, and will eventually enable additional capabilities such as model predictive control to automatically optimize batch quality and reduce dependency on process control samples.
- Will oversee the overall program completion and definition of architecture, evaluation of components, business process mapping, and data model development.
- Looking for all traditional skill sets for a solution architect.
- Need to define a solution architecture that can integrate smoothly into sites and fit within company IT standards.
- The creation of documentation is crucial for this role.
- Although it will focus more on high-level architecture and advising work streams, it will support program integration.
- Ensure programs effectively come together as envisioned and tie the solution to business requirements.
