Daasity is seeking a CPG Retail Analytics Analyst with deep experience working with retailer and syndicated data sources such as SPINS, Nielsen
IQ, Circana, Walmart Luminate, Target Partners Online, and Kroger Precision Marketing. This person will play a critical role in supporting clients, building dashboards, enhancing our retail data models, and working closely with our internal product, MCP/AI, and data engineering teams.
This role is ideal for someone who has both CPG business understanding and strong technical data skills, particularly:
- Snowflake
- SQL (advanced)
- Data modeling for retail + omni-channel datasets
- Understanding of retailer hierarchies, distribution, velocity, promo/lift, pricing, and trade performance analytics
- Transform, interpret, and analyze data from SPINS, Nielsen, Walmart Luminate, Target, Kroger, and other retail partners.
- Build KPI frameworks and dashboards covering Distribution, Velocity, ARP, Promo Lift, Incremental Volume, Pricing, and Category Benchmarks.
- Conduct weekly/monthly business reviews for clients using Daasity dashboards and Snowflake datasets.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries within Snowflake to merge syndicated, retail POS, and DTC datasets into unified models.
- Support development of Daasity’s CPG data schemas and metric definitions (e.g., Baseline vs. Promo, Incremental $, TPx ROI).
- Collaborate with Engineering to validate retailer data pipelines and troubleshoot load or transformation issues.
- Partner with Customer Success, Product, and the MCP/AI team to ensure insights and metrics are standardized and accurate.
- Translate complex data concepts into simple narratives and business recommendations for VP-level stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Finance).
- Assist in onboarding new CPG clients, mapping retailer hierarchies, and validating syndicated data feeds.
- Analyze promotional effectiveness, price elasticity indicators, seasonality, and cannibalization/halo effects.
- Build or support lift models, promo calendars, baseline forecasting, and contribution margin analytics.
- Advanced SQL (Snowflake strongly preferred).
- Strong experience with Snowflake data warehouse, modeling, schema design, and performance optimization.
- Ability to work with large retail datasets (100M+ rows) efficiently.
- Experience with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Python is a plus (for modeling or MCP integration).
- 3–5+ years in CPG/Retail analytics at a brand, distributor, agency, or syndicated provider.
- Strong understanding of syndicated datasets (SPINS, Nielsen
IQ, Circana) including: - Distribution/Velocity frameworks
- Experience with retailer POS / portal data (Walmart, Target, Amazon, Kroger, etc.).
- Understanding of Trade Promotion Management (TPM), pricing, promotional lift, and incremental ROI preferred.
- Ability to simplify complex data stories for non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable interfacing with clients and presenting data-driven recommendations.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
- Experience working with AI-driven analytics tools or metric compute platforms (MCP).
- Prior experience working at a SaaS analytics company or CPG insights agency.
- Knowledge of eCommerce analytics (Shopify, Amazon Seller/Vendor Central).
- Understanding of SQL-driven metric layers (YAML, metadata frameworks, LookML concepts).
