Software Engineer, Data Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

Work closely with senior, lead or principal software engineers to design, develop, maintain and enhance software components and products that support H&R Block business applications and end-user financial products. Create and execute unit tests and address defects. Create and maintain documentation on the internal architecture of the system and design approaches. Provide data for reports that support the marketing team and campaigns of H&R Block on social media platforms.

Participate in technical design and code reviews for enhancements and maintenance work delivered. Produce technical specifications and product requirements. Build processes for business expansion campaigns. Stay abreast of Azure-related apps, Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), Databricks, C#/.NET, and Adobe tools like Adobe Target, Analytics, AEP and AJO. Insure regulatory and security standards are maintained to ensure the systems are up-to-date and secure.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.

Three years of software development lifecycle for reporting and information systems experience to include:

• Azure Devops, Python, Jira, Azure Data Factory and SQL.
• Building logics with data from multiple sources.
• Prepare data for analysis reports.
• Handling, processing, and transforming large sets of data using Databricks.
• Building and maintaining data pipelines.
• Managing large data storage solutions including data lakes and databases.
• Cloud storage solutions with Azure.
• Optimizing SQL queries with Synapse distribution rules.

In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus three years of experience, a Master's degree plus one year of experience is acceptable.

This position allows for remote work from anywhere in the U.S.
