What you’ll do:As the Staff Software Engineer at Alix Partners, you will create scalable, reliable, and high‑performing software solutions that multiply our clients’ results and drive business growth.
Modernize and mature existing platforms, drive adoption of best engineering processes, foster innovation, and accelerate productivity.
As a software engineer specializing in platform infrastructure and Dev Ops, you will participate in the full engineering life cycle which includes designing, developing, optimizing, and deploying new product solutions and infrastructure at production scale.
Key Responsibilities:- Understand the needs and challenges across operations and development; and formulate solutions that advance both business and technical goals.
- Develop reusable, high‑value technical patterns and solutions encompassing technology, process, and people for:
- Continuous Delivery
- Infrastructure strategy & operations
- Build and release management
- Information Security
- Develop and implement state‑of‑the‑art platform infrastructure Dev Ops, Dev Sec Ops , and industry best practices.
- Work closely with development and infrastructure teams to ensure that solutions are designed with customer user experience, scale/performance, and operability in mind.
- Participate in the full software development life cycle (SDLC) including designing distributed systems, writing documentation and unit/integration tests, and conducting code reviews.
- Develop, train, and drive adoption of modern software Dev Sec Ops principles, guidelines, processes, re‑usable tools, and technologies to maximize efficiency and accelerate productivity for Platform and 3rd‑party engineers.
- Ensure alignment, consistency, and uniformity across the firm to help streamline workflows and procedures for product innovation.
- Provide mentorship, create or identify engineering training programs and continuous learning opportunities for all P&P engineers.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to pinpoint opportunities for technological advancements and creative solutions.
- Collaborate with infrastructure stakeholders and continue to contribute expertise on overall technical feasibility, technology selection, implementation approach, and architecture of existing and new solutions.
- 6+ years of experience using one or more of the following IaC frameworks:
Azure Bicep, Cloud Formation, or Terraform. - 6+ years of experience working on public cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and associated deep understanding of failover, high‑availability, high scalability, and security.
- 4+ years of experience working with Docker containers.
- 4+ years of experience with Unix/Linux system administration and scripting.
