Providence Health & Services is seeking a seasoned IS Epic Applications Analyst to join the Grand Central and Prelude teams. This remote role supports virtual work for residents located in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Montana, California, and Texas.

Overview

As a trusted expert, you will drive innovative solutions for complex business challenges, leveraging deep technical knowledge and analytical skills to advise leadership, define user requirements, and translate business needs into optimized system designs. You will collaborate across teams, mentor others, and lead projects that enhance workflows and improve outcomes.

Essential Functions
  • Provide expert advice and counsel on a wide range of business issues using in‑depth analysis.
  • Define user requirements for complex systems and educate customers on application functionality and limitations.
  • Partner with internal and external teams to design and implement business solutions.
  • Demonstrate service excellence and foster positive relationships with patients, families, employees, and community members.
  • Apply technical standards and theories to solve highly complex problems and mentor less experienced staff.
  • Lead project teams and coordinate downtime, change management, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Identify, manage, and communicate issues and risks, escalating appropriately.
  • Perform rotational on‑call responsibilities and travel up to 10% as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Information Services, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 7+ years of build analyst experience in Epic and/or equivalent healthcare software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Epic certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Certifications in software applications, technology infrastructure, or clinical specializations upon hire.
  • 4+ years of Epic Certification with build experience.
  • Epic Application Knowledge:
    User Security & Permissions, Cogito Reporting, Radar Dashboards, Grand Central and / or Prelude.
  • Systems Analysis & Design – Ability to define user requirements, translate business needs into system configurations, and validate workflows.
  • Application Functionality & Limitations – Deep understanding of complex applications and their capabilities.
  • Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis – Skilled in diagnosing and resolving application failures.
  • Data Analysis & Synthesis – Ability to evaluate multiple approaches and recommend optimal solutions.
  • Complex Problem Resolution – Applying standards and theories to solve highly technical challenges.
  • Workflow Documentation – Creating and maintaining clear, standardized documentation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Building strong relationships with internal teams, customers, and community members.
  • Customer Education – Explaining application functionality and limitations in a clear, approachable way.
  • Service Excellence – Demonstrating professionalism and positive interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge Sharing – Guiding less experienced staff in tools, techniques, and analytical skills.
  • Decision‑Making – Applying judgment to recommend actions that meet business needs.

  • Alaska: $52.19‑$82.39
  • California: $54.40‑$85.88
  • Montana: $39.81‑$62.84
  • Oregon: $48.65‑$76.80
  • Texas: $39.81‑$62.84
  • Washington: $54.40‑$85.88
