Oracle Database Administrator

In this role you will be responsible for maintaining the company’s Oracle database systems ensuring resiliency, uptime, HA/DR, performance, capacity planning, overall monitoring and documentation.

This role requires a service-oriented mentality, high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned, a focus on managing and resolving issues in alignment with Mizuho Americas SLAs, establishing and maintaining communication with stakeholders to keep them updated with status of their requests, initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established time frames.

• Administration of firm’s Oracle database environment including, but not limited to:
• Support, configure, maintain, upgrade and patch database environments
• System Health Monitoring
• System Availability and Performance troubleshooting
• Database Performance Tuning
• Database Backup/Restore/Recovery management
• Maintain data integrity and security
• Oracle Grid Infrastructure management
• Database Storage management (including ASM)
• Automation of routine DBA tasks

• Support Oracle environment HA/DR solutions (RAC, Data Guard)
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation to support production database environment.
• Support software development projects, including production releases.
• Effectively coordinate and communicate with all stakeholders.
• Learn relevant business processes and understand data flow, criticality and dependencies.
• Innovative approach to work, constantly looking for opportunities to uplift the system to more efficient and effective new technologies.

• 7+ year experience as an Oracle Database Administrator, supporting various Oracle RDBMS versions (11g
  -19c+)
• Good working knowledge of Oracle Real Application Clusters and Operating Systems (AIX, Linux, Windows)
• Extensive Full Project life Cycle experience
• Extensive experience in developing database scripts (SQL, PL/SQL and Unix Shell)
• Working knowledge of Oracle database design, coding, and documentation.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred candidates will have some experience with other DBMS’s:
  Postgre
  
  SQL, Sybase, etc.

The expected base salary ranges from $111k-$165k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
