Position Title: Senior GIS Software Engineer

Location: New York, NY (100% Remote)

Clearance Requirements: None required

Position Status: Contract – 12+ Months

Pay Rate: $60–$69.50 per hour (based on experience)

We’re seeking a Senior GIS Software Engineer to join a leading Fortune 500 Utilities organization. In this role, you will provide advanced development, administration, and Tier 3 technical support for an ArcGIS and ArcFM-based Enterprise GIS system
. You’ll play a key role in ensuring high performance, stability, and scalability of GIS platforms supporting critical business operations.

This position offers a fully remote work environment with opportunities to collaborate across multiple technical teams.

• Design, develop, and implement GIS applications and system enhancements using Python, Angular
  
  JS, ArcGIS JavaScript API, and ASP.NET (C#).
• Administer and deploy ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal and Server) environments, including service publishing and user role management.
• Support and troubleshoot Landbase applications and GIS integrations to ensure seamless operation.
• Monitor system performance, conduct root-cause analysis, and optimize server and application performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as server support, security, and database administration.
• Provide consistent communication and progress updates to stakeholders and SMEs.
• Participate in rotational on-call support (between 9 AM–9 PM EST and occasional weekends).

• 5–10 years of hands‑on experience with ArcGIS administration, development, and support
  .
• 5–10 years of experience supporting and maintaining ArcFM applications
  .
• Strong development background in Python, Angular
  
  JS, ArcGIS JavaScript API, and .NET (C#).
• Proven ability to deploy and manage ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal, Server, and Data Stores).
• Experience with system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting enterprise GIS systems.
• Effective communication and coordination skills with technical teams.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to issue resolution.

• Prior experience in the utilities industry (electric, water, or gas).
• Proficiency with Windows Server environments

• Experience using FME Suite for GIS Landbase management and data transformation.
