Data Architect – Feed the Children

Salary range: $115K-$120K (commensurate with experience)
Location: Remote – qualified candidates nationwide will be considered for this remote opportunity.
Reporting: This position reports directly to the Vice President of Business Intelligence.
Key Responsibilities- Design and manage Feed the Children’s modern cloud data infrastructure, primarily Microsoft Fabric and Azure.
- Serve as product owner of the Fabric platform; ensure it is scalable, governed, secure, and AI‑ready.
- Lead the stand‑up and evolution of the Fabric platform, collaborating closely with ERP, CRM, and data governance teams.
- Collaborate with Data Governance leadership to align architecture with Microsoft Purview and governance policies.
- Architect enterprise data models, ETL/ELT processes, lakehouse and semantic layers to support analytics and AI.
- Manage all Azure resources and oversee digital transformation between Azure and Fabric.
- Define and maintain enterprise data architecture roadmap aligned with business goals.
- Implement and enforce data architecture standards, naming conventions, and documentation practices.
- Continuously assess and optimize data architecture for quality, performance, scalability, cost and efficiency.
- Lead and manage architecture‑related projects, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Generate and present reports on data usage, performance, and compliance; communicate architectural decisions and roadmaps.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (preferred).
- 7+ years of related professional experience; 3+ years in data architecture or enterprise data engineering; 2+ years with Azure data services (Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake).
- Deep understanding of Microsoft Fabric, Dynamics 365 (SCM and CS), Power Platform, Power BI, Dataverse, Purview, SQL, Python, Spark, DAX, ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, Copilot, and Git and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Product Ownership.
- Experience with data retention, auditability, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA).
- Credentials in relevant Microsoft technologies are a plus.
- Experience working in a mission‑driven enterprise, especially in global health and development, with complex supply chain, community impact, donation, and volunteering programs.
