We are seeking a Technical Pricing Manager to lead our Predictive Modelling team within Pricing Analytics. In this role, you will combine technical expertise with strong leadership and project management skills to deliver predictive modelling projects end-to-end, from planning and execution to stakeholder engagement and sign-off. This is your chance to influence pricing strategies, mentor a talented team, and collaborate across the business to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
Many of our employees work flexibly in a variety of different ways, including part-time, flexible hours, job share, an element of working from home or compressed hours. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full‑time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.
What will you be doing?
- Lead and develop the Predictive Modelling team, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
- Coach and upskill team members in advanced modelling techniques (e.g., GLMs, machine learning), tools, and best practices.
- Own and deliver end‑to‑end rate modelling reviews, including planning, execution, stakeholder engagement, and delivery.
- Manage multiple pricing projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, quality, and measurable business impact.
- Oversee the design, development, and validation of predictive models to support pricing and underwriting decisions.
- Ensure models comply with regulatory and business standards, driving adoption across teams.
- Act as the primary point of contact for predictive modelling initiatives, presenting insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Translate complex technical outputs into clear, actionable business strategies.
- Research and implement emerging modelling techniques and tools to enhance predictive capabilities.
- Identify opportunities for process optimisation and automation within pricing workflows.
- Represent the Predictive Modelling team across Zurich, collaborating with Group analytical teams to share best practices and maintain governance.
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience in statistical modelling and insurance pricing (typically 5+ years).
- Strong proficiency in Emblem, SQL, R/Python, and advanced statistical techniques.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams and managing complex projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance technical depth with strategic thinking.
- A proactive mindset with strong problem‑solving ability.
- Passion for mentoring and developing talent.
- Ability to influence and drive change across functions.
As an inclusive employer we want to ensure that all candidates feel comfortable and are able to perform at their best during the interview. You’ll have the opportunity to let us know of any reasonable adjustment or practical support needed when you apply.
