- Develop and maintain user guides, technical documentation, online source docs, libraries, templates, and documentation standards.
- Administer documentation standards and template management; ensure consistency and accessibility (e.g., Section 508).
- Establish and operate version control procedures for documentation; prioritize requests and estimate effort.
- Educate teams on documentation processes, online publishing procedures, and versioning best practices.
- Manage documentation schedules; coordinate inputs from SMEs, engineers, QA, and product teams; conduct post‑project reviews.
- Own documentation libraries and quality standards; perform editorial reviews; ensure accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
- Lead and mentor other writers; assign work, track progress, and enforce documentation workflows.
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5+ years’ experience creating technical and user documentation in public sector or regulated environments.
- Experience with documentation standards, template management, and version control for docs (Git, SharePoint, Confluence).
- Ability to prioritize documentation requests, estimate effort, and manage schedules.
- Proficiency with authoring/publishing tools (Word, Confluence, Markdown, Sphinx, DITA, Adobe, or similar).
- Strong editorial skills: structure, clarity, audience targeting, and adherence to style guides.
- Collaboration and coordination across SMEs, engineering, QA, product, and training teams.
- Experience running quality reviews, scheduling content releases, and conducting retrospectives/post‑project reviews.
- Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC) or equivalent.
- PMIACP® or Agile related training for teams using Agile/hybrid delivery.
