Job Summary
A Guidewire Policy Center Analyst is responsible for implementing, configuring, and supporting Guidewire Policy Center solutions to meet business and underwriting requirements. The role combines business analysis and technical configuration work to deliver product models, policy administration, rating, and workflows across one or more lines of business. The analyst works with business stakeholders, developers, QA, and other IT teams through the full project lifecycle and in production support.
Key Responsibilities- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for Policy Center enhancements and implementations.
- Configure Policy Center (product model, line of business, rating, underwriting rules, validations, screens, workflows, user permissions) using Policy Center tools (Product Designer, Policy Center Studio/configuration).
- Design and implement policy data model changes and maintain data dictionaries and configuration artifacts.
- Work with integration teams to define interfaces between Policy Center and other systems (Billing Center, Claim Center, policy portals, CTI, data feeds, EDI), including web services, XML, and messaging patterns.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs and collaborate with developers on complex Gosu code, plugins, and custom components when necessary.
- Create and execute test plans, support QA and UAT, coordinate defect management, and ensure acceptance criteria are met.
- Support data conversion and migration activities (mapping, testing, remediation).
- Provide production support, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident resolution for Policy Center issues.
- Participate in system upgrades, patches, and performance tuning for Policy Center.
- Produce and maintain documentation: requirement specs, configuration guides, runbooks, release notes, training materials.
- Train business users and provide knowledge transfer to operations and support teams.
- Follow Agile/Scrum or waterfall delivery methodologies and contribute to sprint planning, demos, retrospectives.
- Maintain compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements where applicable.
- 3–5+ years of experience with Guidewire Policy Center in an insurer or systems integrator environment (experience levels can vary for junior vs senior roles).
- Strong understanding of policy administration concepts (policy lifecycle, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, quotes, binder, underwriting).
- Hands‑on experience configuring Policy Center product model, rating, underwriting rules, and UI screens.
- Experience working with business stakeholders to capture requirements and convert them into configuration or technical solution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to present to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with Guidewire suite integration:
Billing Center and Claim Center. - Experience with Gosu, Guidewire Studio, Rule Designer, and Policy Center APIs.
- Familiarity with Guidewire Data Hub, Info Center, or reporting tools.
- Prior experience in Guidewire system upgrades and patching.
- Knowledge of rating engines, actuarial spreadsheets, and rating algorithms.
- Experience with agile delivery (Scrum) and use of tools like JIRA, Confluence.
- Guidewire Policy Center certification (Associate or Professional) or relevant vendor credentials.
- Insurance industry experience (personal, commercial, specialty lines) and understanding of underwriting processes and regulatory constraints.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Ability to work with cross‑functional teams in a distributed environment.
- Remote work is acceptable.
