Our team in Military Aircraft Group has an immediate opening for a Test Equipment Sustainment Information Technology Specialist to join them. You will report to our Site Test Equipment Sustainment Manager. You will have a 9/80 option (you get every other Friday off) and work on‑site at our aerospace manufacturing plant in Torrance, California.

Responsibilities- Demonstrate a sense of urgency while diagnosing and resolving routine and complex IT issues, providing technical assistance and support to end‑users through written and verbal communication.
- Provide timely updates of status on ongoing challenges and concise reports of completed work to create and maintain a historical record for each installation.
- Troubleshoot end‑user PC, test equipment connectivity and application issues.
- Support deployment of PC equipment and accessories, including installation and support of endpoint software.
- Attend in‑person meetings and appointments with end users to analyze, troubleshoot and diagnose hardware problems.
- Document findings and communicate issues to engineers in our team and others.
- Work with remote‑based software subject matter experts to deploy and maintain custom software updates.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of IT issues, with the ability to find the root cause of the issue.
- Create and maintain local user accounts in different types of Windows operating systems.
- Create documentation with instructions or procedures for end users.
- Communicate with end users of a wide range of computer knowledge.
- Think outside the box for troubleshooting of issues, sometimes never seen before.
- Install, troubleshoot and understand a wide range of expansion cards including legacy standards such as PCI & ISA.
- Identify cables and communication ports, such as RS‑232 or Fire Wire 1394 for troubleshooting.
- Work in a team environment but take ownership of issues where no point of escalation is available.
- May be required to support after‑hours or weekends in the event of any emergency, critical troubleshooting, system maintenance or other issues as requested.
- Some travel may be needed to support remotely based test equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field is preferred. In lieu of a college degree, High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years of related experience.
- At least 5 years of proven experience in an IT role supporting end users of PC‑based technical applications.
- Some familiarity with NI Lab View and/or dSpace Control Desk products and installations.
- Possess industry certifications CompTIA A+, CompTIA Net+.
- Current and active DoD Secret Clearance (or higher) strongly preferred.
- Understand the interaction of additional equipment connected to the computer for proper identification & isolation of the issue needed.
- Understanding of air‑gapped or isolated computer concepts for troubleshooting and support.
- Basic understanding of IP KVM switches.
- Basic understanding of UPS needed for diagnostics.
- Basic knowledge of personal type printers for troubleshooting.
- Knowledge and understanding of current and legacy Windows operating systems as well as MS‑DOS.
- Knowledge of backup / image software such as Ghost or Acronis is a plus.
- Understanding of LAN and VLAN concepts and static IP assignments including basic network troubleshooting for local networks and port assignments.
- Knowledge of Windows registry, local group policy and the setup of scheduled tasks.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills is a must to deal with state‑of‑the‑art technology as well as legacy outdated equipment, including many different machines with unique configurations.
