As a Software Engineer II, you will work with a diverse group of cross‑functional teams to optimize and enhance IT service delivery processes, improve efficiency, and drive continuous improvement using Service Now capabilities. The role involves staying current with Service Now trends, best practices, and new features, and translating business requirements into effective Service Now solutions.

• Developing and enhancing ITSM processes including Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Asset Management, Service Catalog.
• Developing and maintaining scripts, integrations, and APIs to extend Service Now's functionality and integrate with other systems.
• Creating and maintaining workflows, business rules, UI policies, detailed technical specifications and documentation.
• Working closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions within the Service Now platform.
• Collaborating with key stakeholders to identify areas for process improvement and automation using Service Now capabilities.
• Presenting status updates to key stakeholders while participating in software design and project planning and monitoring its performance in production.

• 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent.
• Active Security Clearance.
• Service Now certifications such as Certified System Administrator, Certified Application Developer or Certified Implementation Specialist.
• Good understanding of ITIL processes, IT service management concepts, and experience with the Service Now Customer Service Management module.
• Experience with Service Now scripting languages (JavaScript, Glide Script, etc.) and integrations using REST and SOAP APIs.
• Strong teamwork skills, enjoying collaboration and problem solving with others.

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US‑based candidates the base salary ranges from $83,800 to $174,200 per year. Compensation is determined by relevant experience, skills, certifications and location. In addition to base salary, candidates may receive incentive compensation, equity awards, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
