What you can expect
The Localization Manager will play a key role in supporting the localization function within the Online business team. You will manage the end-to-end localization process for Online eCommerce, while supporting our core product and web teams as needed. Your projects often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres, and you’ll coordinate players on progress and deadlines. You’ll use influencing and relationship‑building skills to provide strategic insight to cross‑functional teams and leadership, driving Zoom’s global expansion.
This person is meticulously organized, an excellent communicator, and excels at supporting multiple localization work streams simultaneously.
The Localization team at Zoom is made up of dedicated Localization Managers and Coordinators. They partner with teams across the business to enable high‑quality translation of content for global audiences. This role focuses on the Online organization, working closely with cross‑functional teams and localization experts to ensure smooth, strategic, and scalable delivery of localized content.
Responsibilities- Manage the end‑to‑end localization process for several teams, including Technical Support documentation and regional Sales teams.
- Plan and maintain localization schedules across multiple projects, coordinating with cross‑functional teams to define requirements and meet deadlines.
- Lead internal operations and vendor management, owning weekly meetings and quarterly business reviews.
- Design and implement scalable, efficient localization frameworks tailored for diverse content types and product needs.
- Analyze pain points in existing workflows and tools, recommending and implementing scalable solutions.
- Champion localization and translation best practices across teams, including engineering, product, and marketing stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Localization, Linguistics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience managing localization projects in a dynamic environment.
- Strong knowledge of localization workflows, translation best practices, and project management methodologies.
- Hands‑on experience using translation management systems (e.g., Smartling).
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and adapt in a dynamic, global environment.
- Excellent consulting, client‑facing, and organizational skills, or demonstrated ability to deliver strategic plans in collaboration with stakeholders.
