Senior IT Field Service Engineer; Commercial MSP

Position Summary

The Senior IT Field Service Engineer is a hands‑on, customer‑facing technical professional responsible for delivering onsite IT support, infrastructure services, and advanced troubleshooting for commercial clients. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer with Managed Service Provider (MSP) experience who thrives in dynamic environments, supports multiple client sites, and serves as a trusted technical resource. This position features a combination of remote work and local DC Metro area travel.

• Provide advanced onsite and remote technical support for commercial clients across multiple locations
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, workstations, network devices, and peripherals
• Support Microsoft environments including Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, and Azure AD
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, switches, wireless)
• Perform system upgrades, migrations, patching, and hardware refresh projects
• Serve as an escalation point for Tier II/III issues and mentor junior field engineers
• Document configurations, procedures, and resolutions in ticketing and documentation systems
• Work closely with internal service desk, project teams, and account managers to ensure SLA compliance
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer satisfaction during onsite engagements
• Participate in on‑call rotation and after‑hours support as needed
