HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Engineer to join our Warfare Systems group in Syracuse, NY. The selected candidate will contribute to the design, development, and integration of advanced electronic systems that support national security missions. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a fast‑paced, innovation‑driven environment and is motivated by solving complex technical challenges with real‑world impact.
What You Will Do- Design, develop, and test electronic circuits, subsystems, and components for defense applications, including communications, radar, sensing, and embedded systems.
- Perform schematic capture, PCB layout review, component selection, and system‑level integration.
- Conduct simulations, modeling, and analysis to validate performance, reliability, and compliance with military standards.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—systems engineering, software, mechanical, and manufacturing—to ensure seamless integration of electronic hardware.
- Support prototype development, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis during testing and field evaluations.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and compliance reports.
- Ensure all designs meet rigorous security, safety, and environmental requirements (e.g., MIL‑STD, EMI/EMC, environmental hardening).
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design, embedded systems, and signal processing.
- Experience with tools such as Altium, SPICE, MATLAB, OrCAD, or similar.
- Familiarity with military standards, ruggedized electronics, or secure system design.
- Hands‑on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
Bonus Points For
- Experience in RF systems, high‑speed digital design, or power electronics.
- Background in defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries.
- Knowledge of embedded firmware or FPGA development.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles as applied to hardware systems.
