Contiem, Inc. seeks an experienced technical documentation consultant with client‑facing expertise to deliver Contiem‑developed S1000D training courses on a contract basis. (

Course development has been completed.)

• Primary instructor for the following courses:
  • Introduction to S1000D:
    Covers history and governance, principles behind data modules, information management, and data governance.
  • Introduction to Structured Authoring:
    Introduction to structured authoring using XML or SGML.
  • S1000D for Technical Authors:
    In‑depth training on authoring in SGML and XML for Descriptive and Procedural data modules.
  • Eclipse S1000D Authoring:
    Training on editing content using Eclipse for S1000D plug‑in with Frame Maker, Arbortext, or Oxygen.
  • S1000D Launchpad:
    Comprehensive introduction to the specification and best practices.

• US citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Extensive technical writing experience (25+ years) within the Aerospace and Defense sector.
• Significant experience (20+ years) with content standards such as SGML, XML, S1000D, and ATA iSpec 2200.
• First‑hand experience authoring in Oxygen, Frame Maker, or Arbortext.
• Client‑facing work experience.
• Consulting experience required.

• DoD Security Clearance desired but not required.
• Previous Training experience desired.

Travel is required for all courses, including possible international travel.

This is a part‑time, remote position with hours of operation from Monday to Friday, between 8 AM and 5 PM.
