Role Overview

2 Hour Learning has reconstructed the school experience from first principles, leveraging AI and learning science to eliminate the limitations of traditional classrooms. This is not a conventional product management position; it is an executive‑level technical product ownership role. You will control the architecture, technical roadmap, and AI integration across our complete learning infrastructure, making critical technical trade‑offs to keep our products streamlined, scalable, and focused on advancing student outcomes.

You Will Be Doing

• Build and apply comprehensive education product expertise to inform strategic direction.
• Author technical specifications that resolve critical decisions and emphasize simplicity, efficiency, and sustainable design.
• Deploy generative AI solutions to automate and optimize engineering workflows.

• Exclusively managing people; your technical and business judgment will be central to this role.
• Spending time in meetings, committees, or administrative overhead; we have streamlined processes so you can concentrate on delivering business impact.
• Proposing high‑level strategies without actionable implementation plans; your guidance must be grounded in product‑level understanding.

Vice President Of Product Engineering

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the CTO for one or more education products, commanding core capabilities and generating business value through flawless execution and strategic leadership.

Basic Requirements

• Substantial experience or demonstrated interest in data‑driven learning science.
• 7+ years of experience driving critical architecture and design decisions on software initiatives, including the application of architecture design patterns or major open source technologies.
• 2+ years of experience making design decisions that incorporate cloud computing services (primarily AWS).
• 4+ years of experience in roles with complete technical and delivery accountability for a revenue‑generating product.
• Experience developing product features that leverage advanced generative AI capabilities.
• Experience applying generative AI to streamline work processes.

Working with Us

This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level is $200 USD per hour, which equates to $400,000 USD per year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
