As the Supervisor, IT – Infrastructure Security Patching, you’ll inspire and guide a talented team of IT professionals, ensuring the seamless implementation, support, and protection of systems, applications, databases, and IT infrastructure that power SPP and its member companies.
This role is perfect for a strong leader with deep technical expertise, who thrives on prioritizing complex tasks, coaching and evaluating team performance, and driving projects to successful completion. You’ll collaborate across teams to tackle technical challenges, deliver innovative solutions, and maintain a secure, resilient IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a team of IT personnel, providing coaching, performance feedback, and development plans.
Plan, prioritize, and assign tasks to ensure project and operational objectives are met.
Monitor hardware and software vendor communications to identify security vulnerabilities and assess applicability, impact, and criticality.
Research, remediate, and mitigate security vulnerabilities on server hardware and operating systems.
Understand testing requirements for security updates and ensure minimal impact to production systems.
Coordinate with system and application owners to schedule installation and testing of security updates, ensuring compliance with CIP and SOC1 controls.
Promote continuous improvement and automation in patching and vulnerability management processes.
Support SPP technical committees and working groups, and represent SPP and its member companies at NERC committees and working groups as needed.
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology-related field, or equivalent job-related experience
Experience Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
Required:
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills
- Flexibility and the ability to function with constantly changing and multiple priorities
- General knowledge of operating systems, application development and support, and database management systems
- Proven troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Understanding of, compliance with and enforcement of SPP Policies and Procedures
Preferred:
- Five (5) years utility industry experience
- Five (5) years of team leadership…
